Every generation uses the technology available to make its art.  Todd uses a hybrid technology stretching from the 1700s to the present.  What you'll find in his toolkit is a normal, 18th century violin (made in 1999 by Douglas Cox) plugged into an assembly of hardware and software, making it possible to record himself in realtime and create a music based on violin sounds, augmented with everything from found sound to synthesis.
